Technical Documentation Expertise

Case notes and e-learning samples that show how I approach a topic. A case note follows a real or clearly simulated case, the chain of information behind it and the points where that chain breaks. The e-learning samples turn these cases into short microlearning.

Case notes

E-learning samples

Work samples in e-learning, each derived from one of the case notes above. They take a few minutes, need no login and store nothing.

Walkthrough film

A walkthrough of the two case notes and the e-learning samples, about two minutes long. The host Clarity Claire introduces both cases, and a simulated learner works through a case note and both e-learning samples.

Walkthrough: Two Cases with E-Learning in Action · © sainaveigel.com

Silent film with text on screen; subtitles and a transcript are available. The learner and every interaction are simulated, and the film does not show the accident.

Transcript of the film
  1. Clarity Claire: Hi, I’m Clarity Claire. This walkthrough shows two cases and e-learning samples on safety, seen from R&D and from compliance.
  2. Clarity Claire: Case note 1: a watertight door on a research vessel. The power was switched off, but the hydraulic accumulator still held pressure.
  3. Clarity Claire: Case note 2: Styal, May 2023. Two safety systems were isolated in service, and the train departed with five doors open. No one was hurt.
  4. Clarity Claire: In both cases, something was switched off, not secured. In my reading, R&D and compliance meet in the information that reaches the point of use.
  5. Clarity Claire: Now the learner takes over. Everything you see them do is simulated.
  6. Learner: I start with the case note. It follows the case as reported, step by step, and the drawing stops before the accident.
  7. Learner: Question 1. My first answer is wrong, and the hint sends me back to step 2. Then: switched off, but not energy-free.
  8. Learner: The second case note has a microlearning series: three modules of about seven minutes each, in any order.
  9. Learner: Isolating is not securing. Rules take over the job of lock and tag, and rules only work when they are followed.
  10. Learner: Last part: transfer. I check my own documentation against both cases. Nothing is stored or sent.
  11. Clarity Claire: From the report to the case note to the learning moment. A safe design stays safe in use when the information gets through.
  12. Clarity Claire: Thank you for watching. The case notes and e-learning samples are on sainaveigel.com.

What these pages cover

Each case note shows why a topic matters for safety and what goes wrong when information is lost along the way. The full implementation for a specific product or site, such as matrices, templates and checklists, is project work.

Reference material such as blueprints and context cards is published by AI TechDoc Knowledge. These pages do not repeat it; they show my way of working on individual cases.
